DaVinci Days 1997 Kinetic Sculpture Teams
Watch for the following teams:
- A Nose Ahead
-
This new Corvallis team could be said to have a nose for
trouble, but they are just trying to get ahead.
- Big Dog
-
Last year's Sweethome High School machine, "Geigl", returns
to run the course again. Let's hope there aren't any dog fights.
- Bone To Be Wild
-
The 1996 "Rockeeters" return again with a boney theme.
With all these dogs around, they'd better move fast!
- Cleopatra, Queen of Denile
-
This new California entry runs on pyramid
power and a healthy refusal to acknowledge reality.
- Cycling Samurai
-
Last year's Sweethome Elementary machine, "Draggin'
Wagon", returns with a warrior theme. At last, someone to keep those
dogs in check.
- Fifi the Kinetic Chia Pet
-
Another California dol, but this one has
living fur! Honey, don't forget to water the dog!
- Free Wheelie
-
These Corvallis veterans return again: You can't keep a
good Orca down and Keiko proves that again as he passes through Corvallis
on his way to wilds.
- Hammer Dog
-
More dogs! What is this, the year of the Dog? Watch out,
this one carries a hammer and knows how to use it.
- Humboldt Honker
-
This California entry will be right at home as it
crosses the wetlands near Bald Hill. As long as all these dogs leave
it alone.
- Josta
-
This new Oregon machine is sure to Pepsi things up. Especially
welcome in the warmer weather.
- Keltic Crawdudes
-
Long-time race fans may think they are suffering from
Deja Vu. Yes, this machine was here for our first race, though not
quite so green.
- Killer Tomato
-
This returning Philomath entry is a two-wheel-on-one-axle
machine that has been completely redesigned for this year. Don't get
too close or you may become its dinner.
- Late Knights and Crescent Wrenches
-
The 1996 dragon returns. Apparently
it has a strong fondness for dog food and heard that the selection here
was good.
- Lutefisk
-
This 1996 Port Townsend entry returns, looking for it's roots.
Or at least for dinner.
- Maltese Fulcrum
-
This Corvallis race veteran seems to have settled on
a vanishing theme. Now you see it, now you don't.
- Meet the Beetles
-
Astute observers will recognize this as the rare
golfcart beetle, only found on Watermelon World.
- Panther Pride -- Private Reserve
-
I'd like to figure out how to get this
one into my wine cellar. Direct from Medford.
- Scientists on Sabbatical
-
Da Vinci Days' very own Village Scientist
takes a sabbatical and heads for the mud.
- Spirit of Muckle Flugga
-
This returning Washington entry towers over
everything and keeps on rolling.
- Time Rex
-
Another returning Corvallis entry, this visitor from the
future has been here before. No, wait, that's not right. I'm confused.
If I go back in time and kill my mother before I was born, then ....
wait a minute, I'll get it ...
- Turbo Carrot
-
A new entry from just up the road. Wow! Tomatoes, carrots,
I've almost got enough for a salad!
